چکیده

People have used carnivorous plants of the genus Sarracenia in folk medicine for centuries due to biochemical composition plants, which are rich numerous bioactive compounds with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral and antibacterial properties. The subject this study was genetic transformation purpurea L. Agrobacterium rhizogenes strains 15834, 9402 A4 using two different methods: bacterial injection or co-culture bacteria plant explants. This confirmed possibility hairy root induction S. A. strain 15834 method. Seven lines transformed exhibiting integration rolB gene, were obtained. roots formed showed morphological differences comparison unmodified plants. A mathematical model optimize conditions extraction compounds. Extracts isolated under optimal from changes, i.e., an increase accumulation total polyphenols (line 7#1 roots: 71.048 mg GAE g−1 DW; leaves: 9.662 DW) triterpenes 1.248 BA 0.463 untransformed (polyphenols 7.957 DW 5.091 0.298 0.296 DW), especially when induced analyzed. HPLC analysis level betulinic acid some lines. Betulinic is a pentacyclic triterpenoid compound high pharmacological significance.

Oriented cell division shapes carnivorous pitcher leaves of Sarracenia purpurea

Complex morphology is an evolutionary outcome of phenotypic diversification. In some carnivorous plants, the ancestral planar leaf has been modified to form a pitcher shape. However, how leaf development was altered during evolution remains unknown. Here we show that the pitcher leaves of Sarracenia purpurea develop through cell division patterns of adaxial tissues that are distinct from those ...

Reversion of Aberrant Plants Transformed with Agrobacterium rhizogenes Is Associated with the Transcriptional Inactivation of the T(L)-DNA Genes.

Transgenic plants harboring the left transfer DNA (T(L)-DNA) of the root inducing plasmid of Agrobacterium rhizogenes show many developmental abnormalities. We observed frequent appearance of normal looking lateral (revertant) shoots from such aberrant plants. Unlike aberrant shoots of the plant, revertant shoots exhibited a very high growth rate and set viable seeds. Sexual and vegetative repr...

Proteomic characterization of the major arthropod associates of the carnivorous pitcher plant Sarracenia purpurea.

The array of biomolecules generated by a functioning ecosystem represents both a potential resource for sustainable harvest and a potential indicator of ecosystem health and function. The cupped leaves of the carnivorous pitcher plant, Sarracenia purpurea, harbor a dynamic food web of aquatic invertebrates in a fully functional miniature ecosystem. The energetic base of this food web consists o...

Cannabis sativa L. genetically transformed root based culture via Agrobacterium rhizogenes

It is an increased interest in the therapeutic potential of Cannabis sativa L. (marijuana) for treatment of multiple sclerosis and HIV neuropathy. Because of limitation in cultivation of this plant, an efficient hairy root induction system for Cannabis sativa L. was developed in the present study. Agrobacterium rhizogenes mediated transformation performed by two different co-cultivation mediums...

Composite Medicago truncatula plants harbouring Agrobacterium rhizogenes-transformed roots reveal normal mycorrhization by Glomus intraradices

Composite plants consisting of a wild-type shoot and a transgenic root are frequently used for functional genomics in legume research. Although transformation of roots using Agrobacterium rhizogenes leads to morphologically normal roots, the question arises as to whether such roots interact with arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi in the same way as wild-type roots. To address this question, root...
